R5: Effectiveness of a Brief Educational Intervention for Reducing Substance Abuse after TBI

Project Update

This study is making steady remarkable progress! We have screened 122 persons, of which 80 have been eligible to be assigned to the treatment portion of the study. Thirty-five people have completed the follow-up portion of the study. For this study, we are using an educational manual created at the Ohio Valley Center for Brain Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation (www.ohiovalley.org).

This User's Manual for Faster More Reliable Operation of a Brain After Injury is available for purchase on the Ohio Valley web site.

The Ohio Valley Center for Brain Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation also created a videotape and DVD version of the manual. These are not yet available for purchase, as efficacy data is still being collected. They may be available at a future date.
